about

In order for us to build relationships with one another, we first have to trust God with our brokenness, our shame, our guilt, and our future. From here, we must trust one another and not be so guarded.

My natural response is to isolate and run from vulnerability but God has called His people to be selfless and to think of others as more than ourselves. If we can contemplate the condescension of the incarnation of Jesus and not see that as the pattern to love one another and bear one another's burdens, then something is wrong.

Christian friendships and relationships are fought in the trenches, not on the playground. Let's get to work.

lyrics

[Intro]
When’s the last time you trusted anyone?
Do you even want to?

[Verse]
Do you think you’re the only one with trust issues?
Mine starts with the reflection I refuse to look at
But I have suffering brothers and sisters
and I've never seen an edifice with a day off

[Chorus]
I know what it’s like to run away too
But my past casts a shadow I can’t outrun
So I press in until Christ leaves an impression.
I know what it’s like to run away too
Maybe the reason I can't trust anyone
is because I fail to trust me too

[Intro]

[Verse]
Fake smiles and make up will not carry me through today
On the surface, I'm happily treading water
But deep down, I'm afraid of vulnerability
and I'm so tired of listening to history on repeat

[Chorus]
I know what it’s like to run away too
But my past casts a shadow I can’t outrun
So I’ll press in until Christ leaves an impression.
I know what it's like to run away too
Maybe I should trust God with all that's outta my hands
Maybe I should trust Him with you

[Bridge]
What are you waiting for?

=Dillon=
I’m too close to the carnage to cast vision
My view is lop sided and blinded by ambition
I focus on theœ times I was lied to
But minimize views when I lied too
This I gotta die to

If my sail catches wind
Who can I trust to remove my disgust
That’s within
If Jesus called enemies friends
Will the inner me quit holding back
On the love that can mend
Why do I wait
Did Jesus not ingest
Every ounce of wrath on His plate
I have a clean slate
Not by performance but promise
My object of faith
Embodied the way
We should model the grace
And offer our space
To a heart broken saint
God
I don’t want to live safe
I’d rather be broken than fake

[Chorus]
I know what it’s like to run away too
But my past casts a shadow I can’t outrun
So I press in until Christ leaves an impression.
I know what it's like to run away too

I wanna run the race with you
I wanna chase the Son until we see a revival
I know it starts here with me and you
so I wanna run the race with you
